The Air Manufacturing Innovation Purchasing team is undergoing a transformation to strengthen the foundation and elevate our current purchasing and procurement processes in support of strategic objectives. This position will play a critical role in establishing a purchasing center of excellence by creating efficient, effective and well controlled business processes that are sustainable and aligned with NIKE best practices. We have a dynamic and diverse team tasked with supporting the operational needs of a growing business as well as supporting complex global projects. We are looking for a self-starter with new ideas to enhance our team.


• You will be responsible for all facets of team leadership, including hiring, coaching, performance management, goal setting, strategic planning, and engagement with business partners
• Proactively seek out ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of purchasing processes and tools to align with the changing needs of our business stakeholders and customers
• Drive the implementation of sustainable best practices through standardized and centralized processes that assist in achieving business targets and strategic objectives
• Develop and implement vendor master and vendor management processes and controls
• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management policies and procedures
• Collaborate with NIKE Purchasing and Procurement team members to leverage best practices, tools, and to ensure process consistency
• Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying and storing materials, equipment and supplies
• Drive cost savings for the business through negotiations, supplier consolidation and new sourcing opportunities
• Build, develop and assess sourcing KPIs and metrics
• Partner with colleagues to drive effective communication and interactions between team members to drive strong business results
• Seek ways to improve communication across all business stakeholders to ensure message clarity and efficiency
• Provide leadership representation on relevant global Air MI projects
• Demonstrate strong communication skills to articulate and advocate the business case for internal and external stakeholders
• Interact with senior leadership team members to share information and report key findings



Qualifications
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or two additional years of experience in lieu of a degree
• Have a minimum of 5 years of direct and relevant work experience
• Experience managing purchasing / procurement teams. Experience in the manufacturing industry is strongly preferred
• Cross functional experience with LEAN manufacturing and Finance is preferred
• SAP experience is required
• Pega, Coupa or other Purchasing/ PO workflow tools preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
• Ability to work collaboratively in matrix organization to maximize performance, problem solve and deliver results
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with an ability to effectively communicate status, issues, and risks with senior leadership team
• Standout "can do" attitude and enthusiasm to drive Air MI forward
