Facebook seeks a Public Policy Manager for our Latin America region (LATAM) to lead Payments strategy and policy development in LATAM. While regionally focused, this position is with the Global Policy Development team. The successful candidate will work closely with and support the wider policy team in the region. The ideal candidate will have expertise in payments/financial services policy and regulatory issues, have experience working on technology policy issues, and have deep knowledge of the regional payments ecosystem.

This role is full-time and will be based in Washington, DC; Menlo Park, California; or Miami, Florida.

Required Skills:

  1. Identify, monitor, and analyze payments and financial services policy issues affecting Facebook at the regional, country, and local levels in LATAM.

  2. Advise Facebook business, product, and regional policy teams on payments policy matters as inputs to the development of our policy strategy and products.

  3. Represent Facebook in meetings with key stakeholders, supporting local policy teams.

  4. Communicate Facebook’s positions in public presentations with regards to its payments policy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor degree in Public Policy, Law, Economics, or related field

  2. 5+ years of public policy experience

  3. Knowledge of the consumer payments and financial services industry

  4. Analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional management skills

  5. Project management ability, capable of leading multiple time-sensitive cross-functional projects

  6. Fluency in Spanish and English

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Advanced degree in Public Policy, Law, Economics, or related field

  2. 3+ years of LATAM Payments Policy experience

  3. Fluency in Portuguese (in addition to languages noted above)

  4. Experience in technology related policy issues
