Summary of Position

The Public Affairs Manager will be responsible for crafting and executing Sealed Air’s external communications to attract business, investors, industry leaders, executives, and employees. Reporting to the Director, Public Affairs, this role is responsible for providing smart, fresh, effective external communications, thought leadership content and external media relations as well as ensuring the corporate brand and reputation are upheld globally and across divisions and functions. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and an energetic self-starter who wants to join a dynamic company and team and help lead the reputation of a globally recognized brand.

Responsibilities

  • Position Sealed Air as a knowledge-based industry leader and help demonstrate the value we bring to customers
  • Conceptualize, develop and execute a variety of external communications that fulfill corporate and brand objectives and ensure a consistent stream of positive impressions that effectively increase team member engagement, brand image, loyalty, and visibility
  • Help drive the company’s reputation and thought leadership program, including paid and earned media, digital production and promotion, social media, event marketing, and video production
  • Support media relations objectives through the placement of stories with key media and coordinate with division communication leads to maintain editorial calendars and outputs
  • Create external content, including content strategy for sustainability communications and press materials
  • Coordinate with corporate and division teams to ensure messaging and brand consistency and maximize promotions
  • Gather, write, edit, share and publish external communications as needed for Sealed Air
  • Follow and enforce style guidelines and corporate standards

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, public relations, communications, journalism or related field
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience

 

Additional Qualifications

  • Outstanding verbal, written, and editing skills with a strong ability to articulate complex concepts and strategies effectively
  • Proficient in AP style
  • Knowledge of the digital space, working with content management and editorial management systems and social media platforms
  • Ability to work to deadline and maintain high attention to detail
  • Self-starter and ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Strong business acumen and project management skills
  • Ability to lead and influence
