Clinical psychologists aim to reduce the distress and improve the psychological well-being of patients. They use the psychological methods and research to make positive changes to their clients' lives and will offer various forms of treatment. Clinical psychologists often work along side other professionals in multi-disciplinary teams in order to tackle complex patient problems. Clinical psychologists work with clients of all ages on a variety of different mental or physical health problems. Psychologists deliver direct clinical services such as alcohol / drug assessments, psychological and neuropsychological testing and psychotherapy.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
Degree in Psychology, PHD or PSYD required
Minimum Experience
Prefer 2-3 years psychiatric clinical experience preferred
Required Registration/License/Certification
Basic Life Support Certification, obtained within 90 days of employment
Crisis Prevention Institute Certification, obtained within 6 months of employment
Kansas Licensed Psychologist LP
AAPS Certification / Alcohol Drug Certification preferred
