Job DescriptionNYC Health + Hospitals/Family Court Mental Health Services (FCMHS) is a mandated court-based forensic evaluation program, administered by the Central Office Division of Medical and Professional Affairs. FCMHS evaluates children and adults involved in Family Court cases in the five boroughs of New York City. FCMHS conducts comprehensive and targeted forensic evaluations in all litigation categories (i.e., Juvenile Delinquency, Child Protection, Custody/Visitation, etc.), and all evaluations are performed by licensed psychologists or board eligible/certified psychiatrists who can testify as legally qualified experts, in accordance with New York State statutory requirements and professional guidelines. In addition to forensic evaluations, FCMHS also provides general consultation and training-assistance to the Family Court, Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship programs, and other stakeholders involved in the Juvenile Justice/Child Protective/Domestic Violence systems.
General duties and responsibilities will include:
- Review existing case records, collect background information about respondents' previous health interventions, hospitalizations, documented diagnosis or prior treatment and prepare a report of this history for review and use by FCMHS' licensed psychologists.
- Conduct interviews with collateral parties to collect information necessary to determine a respondent's level of functioning, and prepare formal written reports to be included in Court records, in compliance with program requirements and quality standards.
- Administer, score, and interpret psychological testing.
- Maintain suitable records and files of test performance and treatment results.
- Mandatory participation in all training and educational activities.
- Dedicated time during work hours to study and prepare for the EPPP exam.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications1. Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, PsyD, EdD) in Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program, accepted by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
2. Valid license and current registration to practice as a Psychologist issued by the NYSED must be obtained within two (2) years of appointment to title.

- Bilingual a plus
- License-eligible Psychologist (w/completion of predoctoral internship)

In addition to base compensation you will receive $4,855 annually if you are currently registered and possess a New York State license to practice as a psychologist.
