Newton Medical Center (NMC) is a short-term, acute 160-bed facility primarily primarily serving Sussex and Warren Counties in northwestern New Jersey and adjacent areas of Pennsylvania and New York. We are looking to hire an Outpatient Psychiatrists

NMC has a professional staff representing more than 40 medical specialties and subspecialties- Behavioral Health services atNMC have been recognized as a premier community-based resource dedicated to identifying and meeting behavioral healthcare needs of people in Sussex County and adjacent areas in order to improve the health and well being of thecommunities we serve.

Responsibilities

The position will have the following responsibilities :

  • Emergency services and consultation -liaison to medical units
  • participation is after hours on call rotation
  • Collaborates in improvement, service development and utilization management activities.Outpatient evaluation and counseling
  • Outpatient evaluation and counseling for adults with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders
  • Collaboration with the community resource center and other health care professionals to offer patient centered care consumer and others as appropriate, and multidisciplinary approaches marked by collaboration with other involved health care professionals
