As a primary health care provider working in collaboration with a licensed physician or physicians, the Psychiatrist will assess the physical status of patients by means of interview, health history, physical examinations and diagnostic tests. In accordance with medical protocols agreed upon by the physician, the Nurse Practitioner evaluates test findings, makes initial medical diagnosis and initiates appropriate action to facilitate the implementation of the therapeutic plan consistent with the continued health care needs of the client. Preferable experience in substance abuse.
Summary: Provides evaluations, assessment and diagnoses for purpose of prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications. Consults with counseling/other staff for treatment planning and crisis management
Current licensure in NY as a Physician, Board certified or eligible in Psychiatry.
Current DEA Certification. Prefer experience in outpatient clinic serving clients diagnosed with mental health or chemical addiction
