As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will design, develop, and test combustion devices for various liquid rocket engines. In this hands-on role, you will share the team's impact on combustion devices development through designing, building and testing combustion devices hardware. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. 


  • Support and lead combustion devices assembly design
  • Engage in the development cycle of combustion devices including hardware fabrication, assembly, hardware verification and test
  • Support, develop and lead engineering, techniques, procedures and criteria required for hardware tracking and delivery
  • Support and lead hardware non-conformance resolution
  • Formulate preventative actions and corrective actions identified during design and development cycle
  • Analyze component and engine hotfire test data and support subsequent data reviews
  • Generate component characterization reports and support engine requirements verification 
  • Execute, improve and develop technical processes in the combustion devices design and development cycle
  • Develop technical tools in the combustion devices design and development cycle
  • Identify and communicate technical, cost and schedulerisks
  • Support and lead anomaly investigation and root cause analyses
  • Support and lead component development strategic and tactical planning
  • Mentor team members


  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, chemical or physics desired)
  • Strong technical fundamentals in propulsion, fluids, thermodynamics, and combustion analysis
  • Strong knowledge with data analysis and data processing
  • Strong knowledge of hardware fabrication techniques
  • Working knowledge of a variety of liquid rocket engine combustion devices
  • Experience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill 10
  • Experience with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5)
  • 5-9 years of experience in a liquid rocket component or engine development environment
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum


  • M.S. in engineering discipline or higher
  • Strong knowledge of different functions in combustion devices development and tools
  • Knowledge of entire combustion devices life cycle from design, development, qualification, acceptance and production
