Responsible for all aspects of property and fuel taxes from return filing, audits/appeals, accounting and budgeting, and managing 3rd-party providers of property taxappeals and fuel tax compliance (with short-term goal to in-source fuel tax). Position has oversight from Director and Sr. Tax Mgr. and will be assigned one or more direct and/or indirect staff.



  • Prepare and/or review preparation of personal property reports and fuel tax filings
  • Analyze and strategically apply all published guidance to result in lawful tax minimization
  • Effectively resolve tax controversies related to audits, notices, appeals, etc.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels, from executive management to divisional staff
  • Independently complete significant projects (such as transition to fuel tax in-sourcing)



  • Bachelor's degree; with major in Accounting and with CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • 5+ years work experience in property tax and desire to becoming expert in fuel tax matters
  • Be detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be a proven self starter and problem solver with ability to lead
  • Have excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Experience with PTMS, or similar property tax software, is a plus
  • Be fully accountable as it relates to the deadline oriented nature of the position
