Handle low to mid-range complexity claims: direct investigation of facts of loss; evaluate coverages, damages, & liability; and negotiate claims to proper conclusion.
*** Conduct investigations to determine coverage, liability, and damages.
*** Gather recorded statements and coordinate field inspections and experts.
*** Determine policy status and coverage; review appropriate policies and endorsements for coverage, limits, and deductibles; and notify manager of claim outside of assigned scope of authority.
*** Initiate contact with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and other parties involved in loss to set expectations, develop an action plan, and perform initial exposure assessment.
*** Scope and estimate real property, personal property, and time element damages using company approved software applications.
*** Maintain electronic records documenting all file handling activity.
*** Identify subrogation potential and liability exposures to make recommendations to supervisor.
*** Perform CAT adjustment duties.
*** Serve as subject matter expert related to insurance policies, endorsements, contracts, and similar legal documents.
