Qualifications: The Business Improvement Services (BIS) department of the Business Finance organization is seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to support its Cost Management & Business Finance Strategy section, consisting of a team of financial professionals to work within Business Finance and the business organizations throughout the Company to establish an enterprise-wide program for cost management. The position will provide strategic, analytical advice and counsel on approaches for cost management and recommend appropriate change management processes to ensure a sustainable process for an on-going cost management program. The position will have the primary responsibility to support the development and execution of the cost management program including the identification, development, implementation and communication of cost management initiatives and its importance to the Company and its stakeholders. In order to fulfill our commitment to provide the highest level of financial leadership to our stakeholders, both internal and external, it is incumbent upon Business Finance to effectively manage company costs and continually improve the company’s cost position.



The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field. A Master’s Degree (or in progress) is preferred. A minimum of six years of relevant work experience is required. Project management experience is also required. This position requires practical hands-on working experience leading teams that implement projects, consensus-building and influencing skills and demonstrated ability in developing, deploying, and continuously evolving and improving processes. The candidate must demonstrate strong financial analytical and process development skills. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills including but not limited to: communicating, motivating, and creating a collaborative work environment. In addition, the candidate must be knowledgeable with computer systems and software programs, such as MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, demonstrate an ability to learn and use other specialized software tools, such as PI360 and Oracle, as well as the program tracking tool. The candidate should also possess strong oral and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities: Work within Business Finance and business organizations throughout the Company to establish an on-going and enterprise-wide program for cost management; establish and ensure a sustainable process for an on-going cost management program; act as Project Management Office (PMO) to work with business organizations to prioritize, schedule, and plan for the implementation of recommended cost reduction initiatives; raise corporate cost efficiency and effectiveness awareness. Provide outreach, training, change management, communication strategies, etc. Ensure the tools, analytics, and processes are in place to foster cost management effectiveness; support the long term strategic plan for Business Finance; develop and deliver well organized analytical presentations; build client relationships with all organizations in CECONY and O&R; Display potential for high performance in the leadership competencies that are most critical to success, including emotional intelligence, business acumen, decision quality, motivating & developing others, drive for results, and managing vision & strategy. Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations; Ensure commitment to the Way We Work Principles, and adheres the Company’s Standards of Business Conduct and other Company procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (“EH&S”), Equal Employment Opportunity (“EEO”), discipline, and security.


Physical Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed. Must be able to participate in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
