We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Project Scheduler to join our team for a large-scale horizontal infrastructure project. The Project Scheduler will be responsible for reviewing, developing, managing, and updating the project schedule, ensuring that the project stays on track, within scope, and on time. The ideal candidate will have experience in large infrastructure projects, an understanding of scheduling software, and the ability to work closely with project teams to forecast, track, and mitigate any scheduling issues.
Key Responsibilities: - Schedule Development and Management:
- Review, develop, maintain, and update the project schedule using industry-standard scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Work with the project team to define and structure the project work breakdown schedule (WBS) and integrate it into a master schedule.
- Ensure that the schedule reflects the project's scope, timelines, milestones, and key deliverables.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather data on project activities, durations, and dependencies.
- Progress Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor the progress of the project, tracking actual performance against the schedule.
- Prepare and distribute regular schedule updates, including daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, highlighting any delays, issues, or areas of concern.
- Identify any schedule variances, delays, or risks, and communicate these to the project team, offering recommendations for corrective actions to keep the project on track.
- Ensure that project milestones, deadlines, and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met by tracking critical path activities.
- Forecasting and Risk Management:
- Conduct regular schedule analysis, including 'what-if' scenarios, to forecast potential delays or scheduling conflicts.
- Identify critical and non-critical activities, dependencies, and bottlenecks, and proactively recommend solutions to mitigate any risks to the project timeline.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to evaluate risks and develop recovery plans for schedule delays, ensuring minimal impact on the overall project.
- Schedule Coordination and Integration:
- Coordinate with project team members, contractors, and subcontractors to align schedules and ensure all project activities are included.
- Integrate schedules from various disciplines (e.g., civil, electrical, mechanical, environmental) to create a comprehensive and coordinated project timeline.
- Track and manage subcontractor schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and services in alignment with the overall project schedule.
- Change Management and Schedule Adjustments:
- Manage the impact of changes to the project scope, schedule, or resources by updating the schedule as necessary and assessing the potential impact on overall timelines.
- Review and incorporate any changes or deviations from the original scope or schedule, ensuring that the schedule is revised to reflect the current status of the project.
- Ensure that any changes or schedule adjustments are communicated clearly to stakeholders and documented for reference.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure the project schedule is aligned with the project's objectives and deliverables.
- Facilitate communication between different teams to ensure that schedule requirements are understood and met across all project disciplines.
- Prepare and present schedule-related reports and updates during meetings with the client, stakeholders, and project team.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project schedules, including version control, change logs, and supporting documentation.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project performance, including deviations from the planned schedule and the proposed corrective actions.
- Ensure that all project schedules, reports, and documentation comply with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Project Close-out and Handover:
- Assist with the development and management of the project close-out schedule, ensuring all activities are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure all project milestones, including final inspections, punch lists, and handover requirements, are incorporated into the schedule.
- Provide detailed close-out reports, documenting any schedule-related lessons learned, to inform future projects.
Position Requirements Qualifications: - Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in scheduling or project management (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP, AACE) are a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project scheduling, with at least 3 years on large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, utilities, or large construction).
- Experience using project scheduling software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or other similar tools.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including critical path method (CPM), resource leveling, and schedule optimization.
- Experience with scheduling on horizontal infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, utilities) is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential scheduling issues and recommend solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scheduling information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients to ensure project schedules are met.
- Certifications:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional) is highly desirable.
- Primavera P6 certification or training is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction standards, processes, and contract documentation.
Working Conditions: - Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, site visits.
- Ability to work in a construction environment, including exposure to outdoor conditions and construction-related activities.
