We are seeking a Project Manager-Schools to join our Construction Services Group working on projects for Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, FL.
WSP was selected for a 5-year contract renovating facilities, updating technology, building school replacements and expanding student capacity. We will work in tandem with and under direction of in-house staff, on management of these projects. The program's scope of services includes (but is not limited to) providing or assisting with procuring and managing services such as needs assessment, planning, project definition, schedule control, cost control, coordination, administration, and management of design, construction close out, and warranty administration services.
The Project Manager:
Manages a broad range of activities associated with pre-design design, pre-construction, construction (including all phasing), closeout, occupancy and warranty enforcement for multiple complex and multi-faceted new construction, renovations and modernization projects
Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and reports the project management activities of multiple project teams with regard to educational facilities
Coordinates/manages all aspects of project activities with OCPS Facilities staff and other OCPS Stakeholders
Serves as project contact and liaison on all matters related to project design and construction
Is responsible for management of multiple projects in varying phases of planning/design/construction
Performs other duties as needed
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a major in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management or a directly-related field
Minimum of 7 years of experience in project/construction management of commercial and/or public facilities
Working familiarity with Florida School Code requirements
Working knowledge of local and state governmental and contractual reporting requirements
Strong management and communication skills (oral and written)
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite software
Ability to use Design and Construction software
5 years of experience in educational facility construction
Strong negotiating skills
Current registration relevant to role (e.g. P.E., PMP, NCARB Registered Architect)
