As a Project Manager for the Gemalto NORAM Biometrics team located in Reston, VA, you will be responsible for all aspects of management and leadership of multiple biometrics projects that provide data collection and information processing to governmental agencies. As the Project Manager, you will be familiar with operations management, practices, and procedures; rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; work under minimum supervision; and have a wide degree of creativity, latitude, and responsibility to deliver and maintain ongoing projects including reporting and dashboards.The Project Manager will have oversight of software developers, system administrators, trainers, and systems engineers in a results-oriented environment. The project manager will serve as a member of the Project Management Office, and receive tasking related to project oversight, policies, and procedures.

A week in the life of a Project Manager:

  • You will communicate and work directly with customers
  • You will lead multiple, simultaneous small- to mid-sized, geographically disbursed project teams, which typically include engineers, software developers, and other support staff
  • You will lead projects from inception to closeout, in compliance with requirements defined by the Project Management Office (PMO)
  • You will develop change requests and pursue new business
  • You will work closely with the finance / accounting, invoicing, HR, quality assurance, and change / configuration management teams, and provide reporting inputs to internal company Management
  • You will participate in project audits in coordination with the PMO
  • You will develop project budgets, plans, schedules, labor forecasts, and financial forecasts
  • You will plan and track project tasks and financial performance, and take corrective action as needed
  • You may support PMO tasks related to project analysis and oversight
  • You will identify and manage project risks and ensure that projects are delivered on-time and on-budget
  • You may occasionally travel within and outside of the US (0-10%)
  • To succeed at this job, you must have: Customer facing experience with excellent presentation, written and oral communications skills, a track record of successfully delivering technology projects to customers (Government preferred), strong analytical skills, leading cross functional project teams of 5+, expert level proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project
  • It would be preferred if you have: PMP Certification, Engineering or Computer Science degree, agile Project Management Experience, and delivering projects for customers in government, government contractor or Biometrics sector
  • You must have a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university and
  • You must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and transfer Public Trust security clearance
  • We are looking for someone with a minimum of eight (8) years of Project Management-related experience delivering technology and service based projects.
