JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Manager shall be an integral part of the Firm’s development team and work within a fast-paced, detail oriented environment.  This person will be responsible for the overall coordination, execution and completion of the construction project ensuring strategy, commitment and goals are maintained.  The Project Manager will be committed to assuring project quality, meeting approved budgets and scheduled deadlines and overseeing quality control throughout stadium completion.  The Project Manager shall be a self-directed and motivated individual capable of resolving complex issues in a timely manner consistent with the Company’s goals and objectives.  The Project Manager shall report to the Project CEO or others as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Responsible for providing hands-on technical due diligence and oversight for stadium/entertainment development project totaling $1B Euro

  • Act as owner’s construction representative overseeing, managing and coordinating with all outsourced project team members, including OPM firm, joint venture general contractors, architects, and consultants located across the U.S. and in Italy.

  • Coordinate with Lenders’ representatives, including Lenders’ independent engineer monitoring the Project.

  • Plan and manage the project on the ground as well as from Boston, requiring strong, detailed communication and follow through skills

  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions, and assessment of results to key internal and external (investor, etc.) personnel.

  • Proactively manage project scope and project performance, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are completed to a high quality and on schedule.

  • Oversee and participate in the development of requests for proposals, bids, contracts and estimates for construction. 

  • Negotiate and manage/monitor contracts and change orders with architects, contractors and third-party vendors on an on-going basis.

  • Prepare/monitor budgets and create/monitor construction schedules.

  • Monitor compliance with contractual and lending requirements, building and safety codes, as well as other regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in regulatory/governmental meetings as needed and, if necessary, be involved in local press coverage on project.

  • Performs other duties and functions appropriate to the position as assigned and required.

  • Regular reporting to Ownership, Project CEO and Board of Directors

  • Interface with potential financing sources

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Our client is a Boston based private investment firm that invests in a broad range of sports, media, and related opportunities from professional teams, media rights, business intelligence, data analysis, sports agencies, eSport companies, along with programming services and media channels.  They seek a Project Manager for a large scale, state-of-the-art, stadium and athletic facility in Rome.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years’ experience in construction management, including experience as an owner's representative for a real estate company.

  • Successful completion of large scale, mixed use project with complicated infrastructure requirements required.  Please provide a project list with a detailed explanation of role in each project.

  • Stadium/athletic arena construction/development experience is strongly preferred.

  • Track record of proven techniques and practices of project management and construction supervision over various aspects of design and construction phases for relevant projects.

  • Strong judgment and decision making with regards to the costs and benefits of actions.

  • Solid analytical ability.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor's degree. Engineering or construction management degree preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%; this project will require extensive travel to Italy.
