Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Typically possesses three to five years of experience in managing large scale projects and use of associated management tools and techniques.
Demonstrated ability to develop requirements, adhere to schedules, develop and execute project plans, meet deadlines, operate under tight time constraints.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills including the ability to communicate complex ideas and information to different audiences and levels.
Project Managers spend the majority of time managing a major project through matrixed employees/teams/vendors who are not direct reports but for which the incumbent has direct accountability to lead and achieve project objectives.
Direct involvement in tasks necessary for successful project execution. Identifies problems and solutions.
Collaborates to establish project objectives, timelines, risk analysis, milestones, deliverables and budgets. Project managers lead a project from start to completion. They plan, monitor, and manage internal projects including complex, multi-year initiatives within and across business units such as Finance, Regulatory, HR, Engineering, Transmission & Distribution, Legal, Customer Support, and Administrative Services as well as construction projects, infrastructureinvestment, and new facilities from initiation through completion. They develop and implement project, resource, and staffing plans, secure required resources, track and report on progress, troubleshoot issues and ensure project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule, cost and regulatory requirements. They monitor performance and recommend schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions including determining how changes will impact status, budget and timeline.
Experience with Microsoft office applications, MS Project, Skype and Visio. Manages the activities of one or more moderate, short to mid-term project(s) with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and outcomes. Accomplishes results through matrixed teams consisting primarily of professionals, and/or vendors who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Determines methods and procedures on new projects.
Exercises considerable latitude and judgement in developing plans, budgets, and resources, directing activities and actions, and determining deliverables. Interacts regularly with all levels of management. Acts as a key consultant to management for both functional and business issues.
•Working experience as a project manager for implementations in power generation projects. •Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards in power generation. •Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
