The Business

Our Health and Group Benefits business helps large and mid-size clients control health and welfare plan costs, improve health outcomes and promote employee engagement through broad-based, state-of-the-art interventions.  We provide solutions encompassing creative plan design, vendor evaluation and management, pricing and funding strategies, data analytics, valuation support, compliance and governance strategies.  We also provide Specialty consulting services including clinical/health management program design, pharmacy solutions, disability/absence management strategies and claimsaudit services.  Product based solutions such as our pharmacy purchasing and coalition and the Willis Towers Watson custom care management units round out our broad-based suite of offerings. 

The Role

The Custom Care Management Units (CCMU) are dedicated clinical teams, built in partnership with national health plans, that manage at risk individuals on behalf of our WTW clients.  As a Health Management Project Manager you will support the Custom Care Management Unit and team in all health management activities.  You will serve as the project manager and day to day communication liaison with our clients and their program vendors, create client deliverables, contribute to client management and new business activities, support the implementation of all new clients and health plans, track program reporting, existing client performance, and participate in the creation of new intellectual capital, tools and resources.

Performance Objectives:

 

Clients

Deliver superior, consistent project management support for the CCMU and health management projects:

  • Draft statements of work, project plans and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams
  • Serve as the day to day project leader, ensuring the progress of the team against established objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables and quality standards
  • Serve as primary, daily contact to clients and program vendors on delivery of services, reporting and implementation
  • Track progress and document meeting minutes
  • Generate data requests, as directed, for client support and program analysis
  • Use reporting & tools provided to analyze data trends and summarize progress
  • Analyze data and provide initial insights on quantitative findings using templates & tools developed by Senior Consultants
  • Determine if additional data is required and follows up to obtain, as needed
  • Organize data in a client-ready format to be used in initial client deliverables and final client reports
  • Track reporting, measurement and evaluation of ROI for health management programs and CCMU
  • Manage client expectations and raise appropriate issues to Consultants and Senior Consultants
  • Support new business development activity or other roles as needed.

Excellence

  • Provide ongoing support and project management on all CCMU and Health Management projects:
    • Support the development of culture of health and integration of wellness strategies and vendors

    • Assist with health management vendor selection, procurement and optimization to promote quality and efficiency

    • Support the clinical process reviews of health management programs (disease management, case management, wellness) and the CCMU for the purpose of quality monitoring

  • Continue developing knowledge of health analytics technical expertise, industry vendors, benchmarks, best practice and consulting experience
  • Support internal product and process development activities to support the CCMU
  • Ensure appropriate execution of all Professional Excellence/quality assurance activities

  • Directly contribute to clients’ success through application of project management skills

 

Financial

  • Meet billable hour goals established with your manager
  • Support the generation of new business by enhancing relationships with current clients and carriers as part of broder team
  • Support marketing and sales activities including the maintenance of prospect list, tracking of client revenue
  • Use reporting & tools provided to analyze data trends
  • Prepare initial drafts of client deliverables and presentations
  • Generate data requests, as directed, for client support and program analysis

People

  • Participate in routine meetings, educational sessions and activities
  • Partner with otherdata analysts and consultants assigned to client projects and internal development activities
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders within WTW’, including: local office consultants, members of other Health and Benefits specialty practices, other WTW consultants and account directors
  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues
  • Educate other Towers Watson consultants and associates on health management and CCMU related activities

Job Requirements

The Requirements

  • 3-5+ years’ experience and success in project management and delivering health management or related health and group benefits consulting services to premiere clients, preferably gained in a health care consulting environment, health insurance carrier, managed care organization or another leading health care provider
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of health care and population health in the U.S.
  • Understanding of key metrics for health analytic data types (medical, pharmacy, utilization, case and disease management, biometrics, absence & productivity, etc.)
  • Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • Self-starter with the ability to work effectively in highly independent environment and with ambiguity
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Polished and well developed oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills
  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Strong analytical and creative skills
  • Exposure to current health care and productivity related analytic techniques a plus
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • BA/BS degreerequired; Master's Degree in Public Health Administration, RN or otherexperience with health care delivery desired
  • Flexibility with respect to travel that can range from 30 to 60%
