Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects within the constraints of scope, quality, time and cost, to deliver specified requirements and meet customer satisfaction. Project work includes business analysis, requirements gathering, building use cases, status reporting, testing, and documentation.  Projects may include new custom development or enhancements to existing applications, building collaborate solutions such as SharePoint intranets / extranets or necessary Operations work such as server moves and upgrades.  Project development can be proprietary (internal) or through third party vendors (external). The PM will work closely with the Mediabrands Project Management Office, internal development department, field service technicians, various vendors, and a variety of personnel across the Mediabrands agency business units. 

Essential Functions

  • Full cycle project management – Assemble key players for the project team, direct, motivate and manage the team, delegate responsibility and tasks, establish and update plans with actuals and forecasts, delivery to time and cost, report to respective stakeholders, conclude the work documentation upon completion
  • Liaison extensively with project sponsors, internal and external customers, colleagues and vendors
  • Ensure all project requirements and objectives are properly documented and followed
  • Identify the stakeholders and verify the key success indicators as the basis for managing the projects
  • Ensure timely activity, integration and productivity of technical support, and administer efficient use of resources to meet requirements
  • Manage trade-offs between scope, quality, time and cost
  • Facilitate project risk reviews and appropriate mitigation
  • Escalate issues to the next level of management
  • Document and track all changes in project parameters, prepare end of project reports, close all project documentation and archive appropriate records
  • Produce application user documentation as appropriate for project size and user community
  • Serve as an example of effective project management; aid in implementation of a project management culture across the organization
  • Assist in the development and implementation of project management best practices and software development methodologies

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelordegree in related field or relevant certification in project management a plus (PMI certification)

 Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated work success in an IT development environment with at least 3 years in a project management role, media related industries is a plus
  • Experience with various development and project management methodologies (e.g. lean, agile, waterfall)

 Skills:

  • Goal oriented and action-focused with strong time-management, multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Good at project planning, team motivation and delegation
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate results and recommendations of analysis to a variety of audiences within the organization (e.g. laterally across peers, and upward to Senior Management)
  • Ability to plan, monitor, and implement projects in timely manner using cost effective methods required
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, colleagues, and vendors
  • Required PC proficiency and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Preferred working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Jira
  • Ability to travel (on occasion)
