WSP is currently seeking a Project Manager to expand our Municipal Infrastructure group in our Prince George office. Reporting to the Regional Manager, Municipal Infrastructure, the successful candidate will manage delivery of our engineering projects (studies, design, construction contract administration), liaise with our clients regarding their satisfaction with current projects and their upcoming projects and assist with pursuit of new opportunities in the region. The successful candidate will have environmental or civil engineering and project management experience and be comfortable managing our relationships with clients and staff.

  • Project ManagementUnder administrative direction plan, conduct and oversee projects. Complexity and scope of projects often requires knowledge in more than one area of engineering;
  • Maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction by ensuring that project outputs meet client expectation and ensure clients are fully consulted and apprised of progress, issues and related solutions at key project stages;
  • Implement WSP project management methodology to ensure projects result in a successful conclusion for both the client and the company.
  • Monitor project financial performance, invoice clients promptly, and ensure payment is received.
  • Maintain control of the schedule to ensure we deliver by agreed-upon due dates; and
  • Ensure quality reviews are completed on deliverables in line with WSP policies.
  • Business Development - Client RelationsIdentify and respond to commercial opportunities, write proposals, and meet with our clients regarding our services.Ensure that all work meets client requirements, is commercially viable and follows WSP policies.
  • Develop, maintain and implement client relationship plans, ensuring clients consistently feel valued and that their needs are being met. Create trusting relationships where WSP is the client's consultant of choice;
  • Build effective networks and working relationships with key stakeholders and especially clients, current and future; and
  • Identify key business opportunities and develop appropriate strategies to place the Business Group in a favorable position to enhance the chance of success.
  • EngineeringProvide technical advisory services to clients for municipal engineering projects;
  • Prepare analyses, designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, presentations and reports; and
  • Contract administration and field reviews for project under construction.
  • LeadershipLead a team of professional engineers and technicians; and
  • Contribute on an on-going basis toward maintaining a safe working environment both for yourself and for those working with you or in your close vicinity. Read and follow WSP Health & Safety policies and guidelines.


  • An undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited university;
  • Professional Engineer or eligibility for registration in EGBC;
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a civil engineering professional completing studies, design, tender document preparation and contract administration on a broad range of municipal engineering projects;
  • Experience managing delivery of engineering services on municipal projects including leading consultant team, scope, budget and schedule management and client liaison;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate and communicate with various professional disciplines, clients, contractors and regulatory agencies;
  • Experience in construction contract administration; and
  • Good time management skills and attention to detail to ensure that work is done correctly and thoroughly.
