Job Description

McKean Defense is an employee owned Naval Life Cycle Management, Engineering, Enterprise Transformation and Program Management business headquartered in Philadelphia, PA. McKean’s engineers, developers, technical staff, programmers, analysts, and program managers identify and deploy new shipboard technologies, integrate information technology across shipboard platforms, and develop strategies to support the Warfighter. McKean’s employees create strategic solutions to help customers reach new levels of mission support and transform their organizations.

15-20 years of Navy experience, including 15 years of Program Management experience supporting acquisition programs and/or 10 years of Navy acquisition experience preparing POM and budget inputs, and preparing responses to Congressional questions. Strong knowledge of the Navy PPBE process and the requirements determination process specifically as they relate to Navy surface ships. Experience at one of the following required:

  • Commander of a Navy major training command, and experience with the Surface Warfare Enterprise Personnel Readiness Team.
  • Overseeing the maintenance and modernization of US Navy surface ships; major Command experience in the US Navy, either afloat or ashore at a major maintenance activity; and significant experience overseeing Navy modernization availabilities.
  • Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Level I;

Experience overseeing ship construction and modernization at the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair.

Required Skills

Substantial experience in the Navy or supporting the Navy;

Required Experience

  • 15-20 years of experience in the Navy or supporting the Navy;
  • substantial experience in Financial Management;
  • 10 or more years of experience in Program Management;
  • 5 or more years of experience working in a program office or PEO at a Navy Systems Command
