The Project Manager, IT Strategy is part of the IT Transformation team and plays a vital role in executing strategic programs that are part of a comprehensive IT and Digital Transformation that is currently underway. The transformation program seeks to leverage technology to create sustainable competitive advantage for Delta. The individual will serve as an internal consultant who will focus on strategy development, strategic partner management and running special projects.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE
Conduct primary research to obtain relevant data on best practices and emerging technology trends.
Analyze current operating models / challenges and understand the impact of transformation programs to improve them.
Create compelling business cases (including tangible and intangible benefits) in support of technology investments that are informed by an in depth knowledge of organizational objectives and best practices in technology. Present these to all levels of technology management.
Work with cross functional teams to formulate solutions to complex IT and business problems.
Manage special projects that support the overall IT transformation.
Work with strategic partners to accelerate joint innovation opportunities.
Work with other groups (inside and outside IT) to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies to solve complex commercial and operational problems.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? / WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED?
A minimum of 2 years of consulting experience for a large technology/business consulting organization.
Proven track record of driving IT-related business change
MBA from an accredited college/university
Experience with IT projects in areas like global delivery, strategic partner management, IT strategy development and IT financial planning (capital and operating).
Familiarity with digital transformation, data science, IT architecture, application development, agile methodologies, and infrastructure management.
Comfortable with emerging technology trends and capabilities including cloud, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
Demonstrated experience developing relationships at all levels of an organization.
Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication, strong executive presence, facilitation and presentation skills.
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Display initiative, act with confidence, and work under own direction.
Set high standards for quality to monitor and maintain initiative quality and productivity.
Gather comprehensive information to support decision making.
Adapt to changing circumstances and styles to suit different people or situations where needed.
Support the development of solutions (process, procedure, initiative) that improve approaches throughout IT.
Participate in the strategic review of business operations strategy, policies and goals with a focus on long-term business planning requirements.
