Basic Purpose

Manages the overall execution of an automotive program launch or program operations, from an operational, technology and financial perspective. Defines and scopes the project, based on client requirements.


Assigned total GP/Revenue responsibility near average for market area. Works independently on most job responsibilities; little supervision required. Responsible for projects with moderate complexity, often requiring increased Project Management (PM) involvement with Solution Design (SD) or Client Team to define scope. Projects usually involve defined platforms in terms of level of technology. Projects may involve multiple individual project team managers and/or other Maritz companies. Significant level of knowledge of Maritz Motivation Solutions offerings. Projects can vary in scope and can be defined with criteria such as: (1) 1 to 8 medium to large projects. (2) Projects involving participants of 500k - 2M. (3) Combined sales volume of approximately $500K to $1.5M (4) Program types of channel loyalty, sales incentive, rewards, employee recognition, consumer loyalty, and/or rewards & fulfillment.

Reporting and Working Relationships

Generally, reports to a Director level role with potential to report to higher level PM roles or other higher level disciplines. Internally works closely with Solution Design, Technology, Creative, Financial and Client Teams daily. Has direct dotted line responsibility for the assigned Project Team from all disciplines within the business and if necessary across platforms. Externally works directly with assigned client teams and external 3rd party vendors.

Principle Responsibilities

EXECUTING/CONTROLLING:  1) Oversees project teams during the development, production, and quality assurance of deliverables in the areas of project management, program administration, web/database deliverables, print creative, awards, and other areas. (2) Authors and maintains standard process documentation for the project team and client. (3) Updates and manages the timeline of deliverables for the project or change for the client, and monitors the project status. (4) Develops and updates action items/issues log; while addressing/documenting issues and oversees resolution. (5) Conducts regularly scheduled status meetings from pre-launch through program launch, and ongoing programs, with client and Maritz stakeholders. (6) Manages overall project financials through preparation of a project pro-forma; monitoring project expenses; and participating in financial reviews. (7) Develops Project Change Acknowledgement documentation. (8) Develops Quarterly and Strategic Business Reviews for client delivery usually with the support of the Director. (30%)

COMMUNICATIONS: (1) Can serve as the client(s) operations single point of contact. (2) Authors, updates, and delivers status updates to the client and entire project team. (3) Initiates and leads internal and client team meetings and working sessions with all applicable project team members and outside 3rd parties on proposals, renewal business and sold work. (4) Maintains a working relationship with the entire project team members to ensure the timely execution of all program deliverables. (20%)

PROJECT PLANNING: (1) Facilitates Working Session with client and Maritz stakeholders. (2) Maintains thorough project documentation to ensure Maritz contract and documentation policy compliance. (3) Defines project phases and assigns activities and tasks in order to meet the client deliverables. (4) Creates the overall project timeline and budget with assistance from project team member(s). (5) Supports the completion of (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT)) analysis for assigned projects (6) Works with the team to define business and/or information management requirements. (7) Manages resource capacity planning and escalates resource issues as they arise. (8) Gives clear direction to the project team about the clients' needs, expectations, and business rules.  (9) Conducts final project financial reconciliation. (30%)

INITIATING: 1) Participates with the project team on identifying renewal or new business strategy, presentation opportunities, qualifications, and client specifications. (2) Participates in the development of the renewal/new business proposal document, including quotes, budget, and timeline. (3) Manages transition of program work and documentation from project development to ongoing operations. (20%)


  • Bachelor's Degreerequired.  PMP Certification desired.  Post-grad work or MBA a plus. 
  • Three to Five years of general project managementexperience with direct client interaction.
  • Ability to provide subject matter expertise around project management best practices.
  • Understands and takes ownership of project planning/forecastingfinancial implications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Possesses strong organization skills with proven detail orientation.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.  Project Management software a plus.
