Position Description:

Manage significant, enterprise-wide projects, typically with large budgets and sizeable staff, leading the design, testing, planning, and implementation of complex projects for systems that typically affect many users.

Relationship Management

  • Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with business owners, project sponsors, and key clients.

  • Creates and maintains the project management plan ensuring PM methodology is adhered to.

  • Develops, and continually updates, project plans and schedules.

  • Develops work breakdown structures based on the project objectives and scope.

  • Identifies any potential project predecessors.

     Project Planning

  • Works with the Business Analysts and Project Team, Resource Managers, Sponsors and Owners in order to define/refine the project scope.

  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project lifecycle and ensure project timelines, business milestones and project deliverables are met.

  • Facilitates the gathering of information required for the level of effort analysis to estimate project cost, resources, time and deliverables.

  • Negotiates conflicts and resolves issues that arise during this process.

  • Develops/updates charter to be submitted for approval.

    Resource Management

  • Determines staffing requirements and forms project teams.

  • Develops budget requests for resources.

  • Works with resource managers in order to effectively align resources across projects.

  • Provides work direction and leadership to assigned programs, including scheduling, assignment of work and review of individual project efforts.

    Procurement Planning

  • Assist with identifying which resources need to be procured outside the organization.

  • Describe technical or other issues that need to be considered and assist in the development of SOWs.

    Risk Management

  • Identifies the elements of risk in a project.

  • Analyzes and prioritizes this risk and assesses its potential project impact.

  • Develops and maintains risk plans, processes and systems in order to mitigate such risk, with assistance.

  • Creates action plan for risk that occur and follows through on plan.

  • Conducts project kickoff meetings, communicating individual roles and project expectations.

  • Ensures that all project team members have the tools and training required to perform effectively.

    Project Kickoff & Risks, Issues, Actions, Decisions & Change (RIDAC) Tracking

  • Leads program kickoff meetings.

  • Ensures RIDAC documentation is up to date.

    Budget

  • Utilizes various tools and techniques for estimating costs associated with a project including physical, financial, and human capital costs.

  • Develops a detailed cost baseline from cost estimations.

  • Refines project cost estimates.

  • Continuously monitors the actual cost of a project versus the budget

  • Reviews bills and evaluates factors that may potentially cause cost changes.

  • Conducts in-depth root cause analysis of project budget discrepancies.

  • Monitors the project identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews; and escalating scope, budget, quality, timeline issues appropriately.

  • Keeps management aware of the situation.

  • Formulates recovery plans or assessing impact if not recoverable and escalates as appropriate.

    Project Monitoring

  • Identifies program related problems.

  • Engages in effective brainstorming.

  • Brings creative ideas to the workplace.

  • Has good judgment regarding which creative ideas and suggestions can improve our business.

  • Implements identified solutions.

    Problem Solving

  • Validates problem resolution.

    Communications

  • Prepares status reports to convey project scope, goals, milestones, budget, risk, status, change requests, and critical issues to the client and project team.

  • Conducts formal review with business sponsor at project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction.

  • Creates and implements recommendations.

    Customer Satisfaction

  • Utilizes established project standards, procedures.

  • Contributes to the development of new quality metrics.

  • Provides the team with constructive feedback as it pertains to project performance.

  • Uses past experiences to identify potential areas of improvement.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an information technology-related discipline preferred; an equivalent level of experience or combination of education and experience may be substituted.

  • Must be able to effectively manage several projects simultaneously.

  • At least 7-9 years of project management experiencerequired.

  • 5-6 years project management in an IT environment preferred.

  • Atleast part of 2 Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence implementations interfacing with business and technical teams as part of big data related programs

  • Gaming and/or Hospitality experience a plus.

  • Must have excellent leadership, negotiation, and mediation skills.

  • Must have excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

  • Must have excellent planning and organizational abilities.

  • Must be able to effectively collaborate with employees at all levels of the Company.

  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients and other departments.

  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to deliver and work through ambiguity.

  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses.

  • PMP certification or equivalent industry recognized certification preferred.

  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses.

  • Motivated to acquire PMP or equivalent industry recognized certification within a year of being hired.
