Maxim is seeking a project manager to lead IC development projects in the Mobile Business Unit. The ideal project manager (PM) must be familiar with IC development project cycle, design methodologies, and is a team player with exceptional leadership and people skills. Be able to manage/resolve conflicts in a professional manner and able to motivate a technical/engineering team to be action oriented, set priorities, and keep commitments. The PM works with cross functional teams in a matrixed company environment, and must have ability to track project details, balance priorities and gauge overall project health.
Interface with customer as a responsible PM on all aspects of project development.
Be able to articulate the IC design flow, how IC development cycle works, and directly drive the team through the development process of the project with visibility.
Lead the project team to clearly define project scope, objectives, key stakeholders, project resources, constraints & risks
Facilitate discussions on technical and business trade-offs impacting the project, driving consensus on scope and schedule.
Establish project goals with team buy-in, holding members accountable while providing the support necessary to achieve project success
Lead the project team through the on-going project control processes:
Continuously monitor project performance with respect to quality, time and cost
Proactively identify/diagnose problems and take timely corrective action as required
Manage crises and provide conflict resolution in an expert and professional manner
Clearly communicate project status on a regular basis to the project customers, project sponsors, and other interested parties, articulating project challenges and elevating when necessary for timely resolution
Mange project closure & lead formal lessons learned/project archiving
Other project/organization-specific responsibilities as required
BS degree plus 3-5 years of work experience in the technical field.
Technical Project Manager is desired
Project management experience, in an IC development environment is required
Proficient with project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Oracle Primavera
PMP certification a plus
Action oriented, able to see the big picture regarding business and technical strategy as it relates to the project portfolio
Good oral and written communication skills, able to easily interface with personnel in all capacities/levels
Highly motivated, self-starter requiring little supervision; ability to multitask.
Customer interface experience is a plus.
