Job Profile Summary
The Project Management Support Specialist isresponsible for providing analytical support of line operations throughout all of Niagara’s production facilities. This is achieved while working with a team oftechnicians and vendors to identify and act upon opportunities to improve current systems within the organization. In addition, the Project Management Support Specialist and a team oftechnicians will work with plant maintenance teams to work on and complete line rebuilds/overhauls annually and in withinschedule.

Detailed Description

• Analytical Support of Line Operations throughout all Niagara Plants

  o Utilize system tools to analyze efficiencies of current line operations

  o Identify high-level risk areas within each line by site

  o Encourage root cause corrective action

  o Develop automated reporting tools for management team – at each site and corporate office

• Working with Vendors in Enhancing Current System Infrastructure

  o Identify opportunities within current systems

  o Work with Vendors to determine compatibility with Niagara systems

  o Provide recommendations to senior staff of appropriate enhancements

  o Negotiate with Vendors on contracts and service agreements

• Project Management

  o Operate as on site leader during projects (primarily annual overhauls)

  o Manage and supervise 4 department mechanics and work with entire plant maintenance team

  o Be responsible for all technical issues related to project

  o Be responsible for all vendor issues related to project

  o Handle all personnel issues with management and HR support

  o Serve as liaison between plant management and department management

  o This function represents 75% of department responsibilities

• Training Development

  o Develop SOPs and job aids through observation and analysis

  o Utilize technician expertise to disseminate individual knowledge throughout department and company

  o Work with site specific leaders in resolving system obstacles

  o Create and maintain communication channels for better information flow --  Communicate relevant information to all major customers and stakeholders

• Special Assignments

  o Execute various tasks that may not fall under scope of any other department employee

  o Examples from the past year: setting up new vendors, coordinating special equipment transfer, assisting in meshing operational functions with AR, observing and altering maintenance practices, analyzing department financial impact on Niagara, attending factory acceptance tests to commission new equipment for shipment, supervising five mechanics on diagnostic visits, and calculating various data based on minimal initial data, etc.

• Travel Requirements:  Approximately 75% of the year

• Proficiency in, but not limited to:

  o Microsoft Office Applications – Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, etc.

  o Oracle Business Systems

  o Efficiency Improvement Analysis 

  o New System Implementation & Administration

• Lean & Six Sigma Certification

• Able to translate data into recommendable actions to senior staff

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Self-Motivated with a proven record of taking the initiative

• Able to work with minimal supervision

• Detail-Oriented with Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills

• Able to execute tasks in a very dynamic and ever-changing environment

• Exercise sound judgment and ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce


• Minimum Required: 

  o Bachelor's Degree and other related fields or equivalent experience

• Preferred: 

  o Master's Degree in Business Administration
