Responsible for leading a variety of projects for SBA’s Domestic and International operations within the established standards and policies of the Project Management Team. Assigned projects work cross-functionally, across multiple systems and across a diverse geographic region. The incumbent must have considerable experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and demonstrate a high degree of project ownership and accountability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage active and assigned IT projects, working within all aspects of a project life cycle.
  • Develop and implement project plans.
  • Develop project charters, gather business requirements and create technical and functional specifications for IT.
  • Create process and workflow mapping, diagrams, use cases, wireframes, ROI's and other documents in support of projects.

  • Manage change requests for pre-release specifications.

  • Manage and coordinate all resources involved with the software implementation; including outside vendor relationships for design and development activities.

  • Maintain a strong and collaborative relationship with the business and IT.

  • Serve as a strong advocate of the new/enhanced process or solution.

  • Direct supervision of Business Analysts and Quality Assurance Specialist.

  • Lead issue oriented project meetings; mediate and resolve conflicts; and drive teams to success.

  • Issue written agendas in advance of meetings and timely distribution of minutes.

  • Follow-up on action items between team meetings and ensure accountability of team members.

  • Maintain SharePoint and other databases with project status and key project information.

  • Develop reports, charts and graphs for Senior Management.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide indirect supervision to the IT Project Management Team. Indirect supervision includes: providing continuing or individual assignments by indicating what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines and priorities. Assures work is technically accurate and in compliance with established procedures and timelines. The incumbent will manage the workload of the business systems analysts and quality assurance specialist working on projects, leading and mentoring the team.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of project management experience in a technology organization or professional services company working implementing IT systems.

  • Experience in managing project implementations.

  • Experience working with business analysts, development and QA teams.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and writing skills.

  • Proven ability to multi-task and interact with a variety of stakeholders and business leaders.

  • Knowledge and experience with project management software and tools such as Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Comprehensive knowledge in the use of project management methodologies and tools (Agile, ITIL).

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or governmental regulations. Ability to communicate effectively, whether orally or written.

  • Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area and volume.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • PMI Project Management and Business Analyst certifications preferred (PMP, PMI-ACP, PMI-PBA, CCBA).
