Kforce has a client that is seeking a Project Lead/Principal Electrical Design Engineer in Scottsdale, Arizona (AZ). Duties Include:

  • Manage engineering staff & ensure project schedules are maintained
  • Make recommendations to management of appropriate additional engineers/equipment needed to maintain project schedules
  • Work to help select 3rd party vendors to work with and evaluate vendors & parts based on cost, experience, & quality; Vendors would include PCB Assembly, Battery assembly, Injection molding, parts/components suppliers
  • Evaluate & recommend test equipment needed in house to assist engineering staff
  • Ensure engineering time is spent appropriately based on company objectives & project schedules
  • Ensure components selected for projects have reasonable delivery times & work withcomponent suppliers to ensure on time delivery
  • Coordinate with Sales, Support, Management & Marketing teams to assist with product launches & roadmaps
  • Use engineering skills to assist with ongoing projects
  • Conduct hands on product development
  • 60 - 70% will be technical product development work
  • 30 - 40% interfacing with vendors


  • BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • 5 - 10+ years in electrical engineering product development experience
  • 3 - 5+ years of progressive project management experience; Project management experience in a product development environment (ideally involving electronics, Mechanical, software, and enclosures) is preferred with NPI (new product introduction) experience
  • Experience working with Electrical, and/or Embedded developers is desired
  • GPS or navigational background and/or previous experiencepreferred, but not required
  • RF Wireless experience such as telematics, Bluetooth, CDMA, IoT or etc., is a plus
  • Experience with PCB design
  • Exceptional track record of managing and coordinating complex full life-cycle projects
