Job DescriptionYour role Engineering Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with Business Development, Market Leads, and Project Delivery teams to define project goals, timelines, deliverables, and ensure alignment with client requirements
Oversee the full engineering project lifecycle, including design, development, and implementation, while managing risks, resources, and safety priorities
Oversee the Project Design Execution Plan, technical coordination, and ensure scope, schedules, and obligations are clearly defined, monitored, and reported
Technical Expertise and Quality Assurance:
Provide technical guidance and expertise to the engineering team, ensuring best practices, standards, and continuous improvement in processes and tools
Oversee design development of MTO highways or bridges conforming to all MTO Design Guidelines and Standards.
Conduct quality reviews to ensure compliance, value engineering, and proper change management.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities while communicating updates, managing expectations, and representing the engineering team in meetings and technical discussions
About youBachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field with 10+ years of experience in delivering infrastructure projects across diverse sectors. Has at least 5 years in engineering management, leading multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, and execution phases, with strong familiarity with MTO Design Guidelines and Standards.
Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
Proven expertise in managing complex, multi-disciplinary engineering solutions within infrastructure, roads, and bridge projects. Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, ensure compliance, and deliver high-quality outcomes in regulated environments involving municipal, provincial, and federal stakeholders.
Strong understanding of environmental assessments, risk management, lifecycle planning, and safety standards. Skilled in stakeholder engagement across public and private sector projects.
Strong technical expertise in a relevant engineering discipline, with a deep understanding of engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices, complemented by exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, a keen eye for detail, and experience in field engineering (including remote wilderness greenfield environments) and reviewing designs for constructability.
Proactively engage with First Nation organizations and communities to ensure early, consistent, and meaningful participation throughout the project lifecycle.

Additional informationExpected compensation for this role is between $117,200 and $161,200 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
