Job Summary:

  • Present or assist with the presentation of sales quotations to customers
  • Develop lines of communication required to keep customer apprised of contracted project status and completions dates
  • Review customer prints and technical documents utilizing data to produce sales quotations for presentation to customers
  • Create complex project plans and facilitate their execution
  • Maintain Company safety and quality standards while meeting or exceeding deadlines
  • Create bills of materials and shop routes
  • Calculate requirements needed and create shop routings as needed
  • Research and supply necessary pre-production detail or processes and hold communication meetings as needed
  • Use CAD or make sketches to prepare drawings as necessary and provide to production to accurately produce product
  • Resolve problems or differences with prints or contract details as they relate to contract fulfillment
  • Execute proper change orders or requests
  • Assist production and quality assurance with problem resolution as they relate to part inspection and verification
  • Improve quality and lower production costs on repetitive parts and processes

Education/Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from a two or four-year college/ university, or four to eight years related
  • experience and on-the-job training, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Process and costing knowledge of custom machining, fabrication, welding, and finishing to include metallurgy, tooling, set up, feeds, speeds, and efficiency
  • Previous CAD and electronic spreadsheet experience/training, Solid Edge preferred
  • Prior experiencewithWindows-based programs

  • Estimating skills with the ability to equate customer prints, technical data, and process knowledge to financial quotations
  • Ability to create detailed project plans and successfully execute them by meeting or exceeding all established deadlines.
  • Extensive knowledge of process times, materials, and financial costing software
  • Excellent geometry and trigonometry skills
  • Blueprint interpretation and understanding of geometric tolerances is required
  • Proficiency in CAD; Solid Edge a plus
  • Ability to travel to vendor and customer sites up to 20% of the time
