Job Summary

The role is responsible to manage various technical and compliance related projects within the department (e.g. technical issues who arise outside the department's normal line of work; Golden Rules; Compliance Initiatives; Whistleblower; EHS). The position supports the departments Consent Decree related activities incl. overseeing implementations of monitor recommendations and writing reports.

Job Responsibilities

Project Management / Cross-functional support of Technical and Legal Topics (50%)

  • Tracks specifically assigned technical and legal issues
  • Coordinate topics and engage leadership, various departments and legal counsel as required
  • Coordinate between EEO teams to track topic specific deliverables
  • Coordinate technical knowledge transfer to the Office of General Counsel
  • Prepare status updates on technical issues for agencies
  • Works with IT department to set up IT solution to increase data security within the department and implementation
  • Works with individual teams who are affected of Golden Rules and oversees the implementation of the requirements in the department
  • Supports Quality and Environmental Management System (QMS/EMS) activities incl. writing of processes and procedures if needed

Consent Decree related Project Management (30%)

  • Reviews Monitor Reports and supports the implementation of recommendations and observations
  • Supports the Consent Decree related Core Task activities in the department
  • Supports Monitor Certification activates and coordinates and implements required tasks for EEO
  • Assists in writing EEO specific sections for VW Reports

Program Management for Compliance Initiative on department level (20%)

  • Coordinates and supports implementation of Compliance Initiatives on department level
  • Supports Management in Whistleblower Investigations including Project Management Coordination with Office of General Counsel (OGC)
  • Trains staff on EHS requirements and coordinates implementation of required actions on department level with focus on Workshop in MI and Technical Center in NJ
  • Responsible for new ECMS (Environmental Compliance Management System) initiatives within the department

Required Experience

  • 5+ years professional automotive related experience

Required Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a technical field

  • Master's Degree

  • Project management, responsible for completion of timelines and content fulfillment
  • Ability to track, monitor and coordinate anticipated and on-going matters within the different stakeholders of the organization
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Emissions testing / certification / Defect Reporting / Regulatory Affairs understanding and/or experience
  • Knowledge and/or experience of EHS (Environment, health and safety)
  • Familiarity with VWs Consent Decree requirements

Work Flexibility

  • Domestic and International Travel as needed ~ up to 20% (2-7 day durations)
