Job Title: Project Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

The Project Engineer is responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines that projects require. This includes the mechanical design and development of components, in addition to managing resource plans, budgets, timelines, testing and all technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and product quality from conception to completion. The position will interface with different groups within the company as well as external vendors and customers. The Project Engineer will work closely with other Engineers, Technicians, Procurement and Quality within a project-oriented, hands-on, team environment. The position requires strong documentation, presentation and communication skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead all engineering and technical aspects of a project
  • Design/development, produce and qualify new products
  • Organize, schedule and coordination of qualification testing
  • Hands-on work in test lab to support quality, development tests, post life analysis and equipment maintenance and design
  • Create detailed engineering test reports and presentations
  • Create and maintain resource plan, project/task management tool, budget and timelines
  • Create engineering documentation including drawings, bill of materials, technical specifications, work instructions, standards/procedures and checklists

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: B.S. Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical EngineeringTechnology
  • Experience in related fields (7 + years)
  • Solid mechanical design experience and strong engineering fundamental skills
  • Experience working as a project engineer
  • Good working knowledge of material properties
  • Experience with various manufacturing technologies
  • Experience with rapid prototyping processes
  • Hands-on experimental testing and analysis
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Must have strong organizational, presentation and communication skills

PLUSES:

  • Knowledge of SAP, PLM
  • Knowledge of fluid mechanics
  • Project Management experience/PMP
