Project Engineer – Power Electronics & Energy Systems

Responsibilities:

Contributing to the design and development of electronics hardware, embedded software, and supporting tools and processes

Contributing to the vehicle electrical architecture for high and low voltage systems

Developing and analyzing system and subsystem requirements

Proposing solutions that may include both hardware and software components

Oversight of supplier provided hardware and software designs

In-depth analysis of electronic and electrical component specifications

Evaluating proposed solutions

Providing technical leadership and guidance

Developing technical specifications

Developing embedded software

Board level chip selection

Leading projects

Significantly contributing to overall team and project success

Owning specific technologies, components, processes, and subsystems

Minimum Requirements:

BS EE or related engineering discipline

7+ years of experience as a power electronics or embedded controls engineer

Understanding of control system theory

Capable of making control and electrical system architecture decisions

Capable of analyzing board level chip options and making informed recommendations - processors, memory, transceivers, drivers

Experience as an embedded C developer

Familiarity with model based development

Awareness of data communication systems such as CAN based networks


Preferred:

MS EE or related engineering discipline

Understanding of electric motor fundamentals

Proficient with analysis and troubleshooting of electronic and electrical circuits

Experience with model based development and code generation

Experience with Matlab and Simulink

Proficient with programming and troubleshooting CAN communication devices and networks

Familiarity with SPI programming

Experience with vehicle/automotive machines

Experience with industrial equipment

Familiarity with automotive and industrial equipment regulations and standards
