We currently seek a Project Development Engineer to support the development, design, and installation of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) generating systems including energy storage options for institutional and utility-scale projects as well as other renewable energy initiatives for Enterprise and Commercial and Industrial client base. This position is located in Arizona.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Solar PV Engineers to provide project support for development, design, and construction activities;
Assist with the assessment of project requirements to evaluate business opportunities for solar PV;
Evaluate energy regulations for opportunities and risks to the solar PV business plan;
Provide assistance with market evaluation and prepare sales materials to communicate findings;
Visit project sites to assess and document site dimensions and electrical systems;
Gather key project details such as utility data, facility profiles, site drawings, and system operating data;
Provide assistance with engineering assessment including technical and financial analysis of options;
Prepare technical content, proposals, analysis, feasibility reports and provide critical peer review;
Prepare reports on projects in development, construction and operation;
Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes;
Foster effective and positive business relationships with all parties throughout project phases: and
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science discipline, with a focus on Electrical Engineering, Energy Efficiency and/or Renewable Technology preferred.
Minimum four (4) years of experience performing design calculations, solar photovoltaic rooftop and ground-mounted system layouts and designs, related site visits and fieldwork for commercial/institutional facilities
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated understanding of current engineering principles associated with analysis of building electrical interconnection, solar power generation systems, data monitoring/reporting systems. Ability to evaluate building electrical drawings and specifications a plus.
Familiarity with commercial and industrial utility rate schedules a plus.
Proven ability to gather, validate, and analyze quantitative data and information
Ability to read and understand complex energy regulations and to summarize the key parts of the regulations that affect market opportunities and sales growth.
Intermediate level user of MS Excel and understanding of common functions and formulas
Familiarity with solar design software such as PVSYST, HELIOSCOPE, NREL SAM, and PV Watts.
Excellent verbal, written, computer communication and presentation skills required.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships.
Ability to pass security clearance investigation.
