Position Outline

The Senior Project Manager will ensure the successful delivery of projects through full lifecycle.  The Project Manager will work with stakeholders, sponsors, and Program Managers to gather requirements, then, accurately scope, plan and execute projects

This position reports to the Project Team Manager and liaises with Client Program Managers.

The Senior Project Manager will manage the day-to-day activities of the Project Delivery Team.  This includes allocation of Project work, ensuring Projects are managed through their full lifecycle in line with standards and procedures set out by the Project Team Manager and client Program Managers. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for successful delivery of Projects within the Project Delivery Team (PDT) Program
  • Maintain sprint cadence and project schedule
  • Lead  team meetings
  • Manage resource utilisation and performance of Project team members
  • Ensure quality and consistency of usage of PDT Project Management standards
  • Mentors junior team members

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years Project Management experience in a large corporate environment
  • Industry standard Project Management certifications - Prince2 Practitioner or PMP
  • Working knowledge of Agile Project Management methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
  • Proven track record of consistent, successful full-lifecycle Project Management
  • Strong stakeholder management, interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical reasoning skills
  • Understanding of standard ITIL/ITSM models, particularly Change Management
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior team members, develop and mature PMO processes

Preferred Skills

  • ITILv3 Certifications, especially Service Design and/or Service Transition
  • Agile Project Management qualifications (e.g., Scrum - CSM, CSPO)
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira Agile and Portfolio
  • Experience of working in or managing teams to SLAs in an IT operations environment
  • Technical analytical skills, including data manipulation, formulas, tools and reporting
  • Knowledge of internal Google tools and systems is beneficial (former Googler or TVC)
  • Strong technological literacy, across hardware, software and corporate IT environments
