Job Summary:


The Project & Analytics Specialist is responsible for providing data analytics support to HMDA Data Management team to ensure accurate reporting and accounting of HMDA LAR data and assists with preserving the scrubbed LAR data. This position is accountable for supporting the HMDA data management team in designing and developing data architecture to help streamline and automate data management and reporting processes.


Secondly to the HMDA efforts the Position will also support other business unit projects, initiatives and strategic efforts. Position will serve as the primary lead for the business uniton all creative solutions to help drive results. Through a creative approach the position will identify, support and develop processes to improve and automate reporting, data flows and analytics to better serve executive management in decision making.


Major Responsibilities


This role will be expected to have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the database architect, database management, mortgage origination and HMDA data to be able to develop and produce monthly reports to assist with the HMDA data management process. Will be primarily responsible in assisting with developing and automating reports where feasible in order to facilitate a scalable infrastructure. Make recommendations to management in areas of improving reporting content and/or process, including but not limited to recommending and executing the consolidation of similar reports and requests, enhancing existing reports with more meaningful metrics, and streamlining current business processes.


Develop and maintain critical data reporting files to ensure accurate tracking of each business lines volume as well as overall HMDA file volume. Detailed duties may include the following: developing and maintaining key data monitoring and analysis reports that identify data anomalies, missing records, monthly volume trends, accounting of weekly/monthly data file extract and loan records. Develop automated query to help transform data, streamline and automate monthly operations and team performance metrics reports, data snapshot reports, and peer analysis reports to help monitor data trends.


Additional Requirements


Core Competencies & Skills:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or Information Systems, or minimum of 4 years of direct work experience with database management and data analysis/reporting.
  • Requires experience with SQL and or Microsoft Access including understanding and running advanced queries and modifying as needed or advanced proficiency understanding of Microsoft Excel queries and advanced formulas.
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong organization skills with the ability to work efficiently and independently. Understands requirements to maintain a secure and accurate data environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to include listening, verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under time pressure and handle multiple tasks/projects at the same time.
  • Strong data solution, data architect and data analytical skills, sound judgment and ability to work effectively with peers and business line partners.
  • 3+ years of, or related experience in mortgage banking, consumer lending, corporate banking.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HMDA data reporting requirements and mortgage lending data is a plus.
