Job Description

ASRC Federal System Solutions proudly supports the Federal Aviation Administration/FAA on a seven-year engineering program. We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Programmer Analyst with outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills to provide support in our Remote Maintenance & Monitoring System (RMMS) group that will utilize your software, hardware and firmware skills.

  • Provide technical assistance in the installation, operation and maintenance of equipment and services
  • Provide software development utilizing Java
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures; conduct testing of equipment and services
  • Customize microprocessor based hardware as needed
  • Generate documentation for equipment and services; maintain configuration control of equipment

The Remote Maintenance and Monitoring System (RMMS) is a collection of subsystems that includes telecommunication components, hardware, and software, which serve to automate and streamline the maintenance and operations of the National Airspace System (NAS). Functions supported via the Remote Maintenance Monitoring system include equipment monitoring, outage reporting, control, certification, automated logging, and configuration management. RMMS subsystems consist of the Remote Monitoring System (RMS) hardware on the remote systems to be monitored, the Maintenance Automation System Software and Control Function (MASS / MCF). There are approximately 5,000 RMS units in service.

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline (Electrical/Electronic preferred); ABET is required (accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology) or Computer Science, or other technical degree.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience (hardware, software, firmware)
  • Experience programming in object-oriented languages such as C++, Java, etc...
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25% if required
  • Experience designing microprocessor based hardware is a plus/embedded experience a plus
  • Knowledge of remote monitoring and maintenance is a plus
  • Ability to pass an FAA background investigation which requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residency
