The Program Supervisor is a mental health professional who serves in a supervisory role within the treatment team. He or she provides assessments, creates and revises treatment plans, develops and coordinates care among the disciplines, and provides treatment and rehabilitation services to clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides case management for an assigned group of clients including coordinating and monitoring activities of the treatment team, carries a small caseload.
- Develops, evaluates, and implements treatment goals and plans in conjunction with the treatment team.
- Provides individual supportive therapy and symptom management. Performs psychosocial assessments.
- Coordinates the full range of client’s needs. Provides brokerage, linkage and advocacy to ensure resources and services are accessed in a timely manner, providing community based services in client’s residence as needed.
- Conducts individual and group counseling including crisis intervention, and oversees psychoeducational group schedule.
- Complies with all charting and documentation requirements per contract, funding agency, and MHS policy.
- Collaborates with Public Conservator as needed on behalf of clients.
- Prepares critical care issues for discussion during supervision and treatment team meetings.
- Provides on-call and after-hours services as required by contract.
- Provides leadership to clinical team consistent with intentional care standards, Title 9 regulations, San Diego County regulations, and MHS Inc. clinical pillars. Is responsible for the overall supervision of staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling and payroll, in consultation with the Program Manager.
- Co-Facilitates weekly staff meetings.
- Reviews medical records for accuracy and staff training.
- Maintains a daily log of client contacts.
- Assists in Quality Assurance accuracy and Utilization Management.
- Collects necessary client demographic data and enters it on the MHS Treatment Team Services Data Collection Form.
- Provides information about the program to community agencies connected to the mental health services system in order to educate them about the program.
- Master’s degree in a behavioral science
- At least three years’ experience providing clinical services to individuals with mental illness
- Licensed, or license eligible preferred.
