Job Description

The(GDPP) works to shift the policy paradigm on illicit drugs from a punitive approach to one rooted in human rights, sustainable development, and public health. Grantmaking and advocacy are the principal tools of GDPP, which provides financial support to organizations around the world engaged in improving national drug policies, as well as human rights and sustainable development groups that seek to include drug policy into their portfolios.

As a Program Officer at Open Society, you will:

  • Be responsible for all grantmaking activities relating to Asia and contribute to grantmaking in other regions and thematic portfolios.
  • Identify possible partners, projects, and opportunities and build collaborative relationships within and outside OSF (e.g., with existing grantees, prospective grantees, experts in the community, government representatives and other stake holders) that advance drug policy reform efforts in Asia.
