Job Title: Program Manager - Warehouse / Supply Chain

Job Location: Wayland, MA

Job Type: Contract - 12 Months / Contract to Hire / Direct Hire

Job Description:

  • A PM ware house and supply chain expert that has a high level of expertise is schedule build and management with demonstrated experience in schedule best practices including the following

Building complex, program schedules in MS Project that meet best practices:

  • Experienced in plant consolidation, warehouse design and supply chain
  • Knows if plan is viable and can support plan by a narrative detailing planning basis and approach
  • Can define with little effort whether the schedule is a low, medium or high riskschedule 
  • Documents key assumptions on plan approach / structure and logs assumptions into risk register 
  • Knows how to load resources into plan in a thoughtful, balanced way to identify and resolve resource conflicts early on 
  • Requires sound rationale for duration estimates
  • Primarily uses finish to start (FS) logic to link tasks and minimizes the use of SS, FF, SF and FS lags and FS leads 
  • Knows that every activity has to have at least one FS or SS predecessor and one FS or FF successors
  • Does not link tasks to summary tasks
  • Can establish a critical path and near critical path chains easily
  • Integrates holiday calendars into schedule
  • Can identify inputs and outputs between workstreams
  • Knows how to use the baseline function 
  • Incorporates risk triggers, and risk responses into schedule

Managing complex, program schedules:

  • Can assist in instilling a culture of accountability for delivering on time regardless of whether a task is on critical path
  • Can analyze "float" or "slack" in schedule and track as a metric of project health
  • Can analyze resource loading during execution as individual tasks finish early or late
  • Can analyze late starts and late finishes to identify future obstacles
  • Can track % complete, actual starts, actual finishes 
  • Can analyze schedule to determine if the rate of completion is aligned with scope of work remaining 
  • Requires changes to schedule (other than basic updates on progress) to be reviewed and approved prior to implementing change
