What You Will Do:

The Surgical Outcomes/ERAS Clinical Manager is responsible to oversee with minimal supervision the continuum of care for surgery patients, including the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program and the 'Strong for Surgery' initiative for the Division of Surgery. Responsibilities include care coordination for surgery patients through all stages of the perioperative continuum ensuring that all surgery patients are optimized for surgery and that the ERAS pathway is followed by all participating disciplines. Duties to include visiting primary care offices to promote physiologic optimization prior to surgery, ongoing ERAS education to the patient and patients' families, the care team and community resources; identifying and resolving clinical issues which affect patient care, clinical efficiency, effectiveness and making program improvements related to outcomes through collaboration, project management, and performance improvement activities. Ongoing efforts to work with and improve upon existing efforts to reduce surgical site infections. Reports jointly to the Director of Surgical Services and the Chief of Surgery.

What You Will Bring:

Education

Bachelors Nursing (BSN) required
Masters Nursing (MSN) preferred

Experience
Five years professional nursing experience with progressive clinical experience including care of surgical patients and care management required
Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team required

Certification & Licensures
Current VA RN license required
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required *
* New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications
Ability to facilitate and lead a team approach to population-based care as needed required - Excellent written and verbal communication skills required - Strong interpersonal, delegation and problem solving skills required - Strong analytical and data management skills required - Project management experience required - Detail oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills required - Ability to work independently under general guidance required - Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) required - Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required
