SCIEX is seeking high-impact, collaborative candidates for the role of Program Manager, PR/Brand and Social Media Strategy. Our new Program Manager will take on global responsibility for media strategy and programs including public relations and social media integration. This role also encompasses brand campaign creation and implementation, supporting the evolution of SCIEX corporate brand strategy. Reporting to the Director of Brand and Public Relations, this position is part of a newly reorganized and highly driven digital marketing team that values accountability, intellectual curiosity, and the cultivation of fresh ideas and team chemistry within a diverse matrix organization.
Media strategy and programs
Leverage expertise in public relations and social media to develop communications and media relations programs that drive media pick-ups, customer engagement, and brand awareness
Manage PR campaigns that align with market segment strategy to drive overall portfolio growth goals, partnering with agencies and other vendors to generate press releases and editorials consistent with established messaging
Collaborate with global marketing managers to craft channel-specific media plans while ensuring content is delivered within a cohesive brand story
Monitor and report on campaign metrics to maximize marketing effectiveness and drive ROI; utilize metrics to drive continuous improvement, tweaking program implementation to optimize impact
Maximize major media opportunities by managing preparation for and execution at events/trade shows, including onsite orchestration of press conferences, interviews, and social media coverage
Drive increased social channel usage, working as a team with content owners to build presence on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Snapchat and rebuild online content on YouTube
Develop a strong industry network to create leverage with strategic advocates and influencers, leading efforts to collect voice of customer (VOC), conduct key opinion leader (KOL) interviews, and obtain customer testimonials
Optimize global PR engagement by working across regions to develop and/or adapt programs, ensuring best practices are shared and implemented
Brand strategy and awareness
Support internal subject matter experts (SMEs) and global marketing campaign owners by driving initiatives that strengthen brand awareness/perception and stimulate qualified lead generation
Help design and execute approach to collecting VOC around brand positioning and messaging, evolving corporate brand identity/imagery as appropriate to fortify the brand story that underpins the product portfolio
Partner with internal communications team to identify synergies and champion complementary initiatives
Expand brand guidelines to enhance copywriting direction and standardize naming conventions, triggering a plan to ensure global compliance
Maintain ownership of branding review process and standardize globally: gain regional buy-in, train stakeholders
Liaise with marcom counterparts to regularly review and optimize content for brand advertising and media placements/remarketing
3-5 years in media and/or brand management, with minimum 2 years in PR or corporate communications role
Bachelors degree required; focus in marketing or communications desirable, or commensurate experience
Ability to demonstrate proficiency with:
Writing press releases and editorials, crafting inputs from internal and external stakeholders at an executive level
Managing agency relationships to agree scope of work and deliver results on time and within budget
Building and sustaining meaningful relationships with KOLs/SMEs
Preparing for major events, running press conferences, handling media inquiries and interview requests
Social media content development and posting, including fundamental understanding of paid promotion and SEO
Project management skills: strong collaborative approach with proven accountability for deliverables

Experience working in a global matrix environment
Experience in life sciences, diagnostics, or pharmaceuticals, including product launch support, is highly valued
Ability to travel up to 10%
