Position Summary:

This role acts as the facilities expert for management of all facilities compliance for Federal, State, Local and jurisdictional authorities at City of Hope. The Program Manager is responsible for promoting, developing, and maintaining a compliance program to meet all life and fire safety requirements. In addition, this role will ensure compliance with The Joint Commission supporting the Emergency Management, Environment of Care and Life Safety components of Facilities.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading onsite activities including document review with regulatory bodies and survey teams
  • Standardization of processes and protocols for all regulatory documentation across the enterprise
  • Development of standards for construction practices to ensure compliance during construction and upon turnover
  • Standardization of all fire and life safety systems including fire protection, suppression & monitoring
  • Ensuring existing Fire Protection and Life Safety systems are in proper operating condition, recommends replacement where needed
  • Facilitates system replacements to fire and life safety systems when needed
  • Develops and ensures compliance of a Water Management program
  • Manages the Air Quality Management program
  • Manages the Interim Life Safety Program on behalf of the organization and ensures ILSMs are implemented when needed
  • Helps with compliance training related to Fire and Safety where needed
  • Monitors ongoing survey readiness where applicable


Qualifications

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of comparable experience in Facilities Compliance, Fire Safety or other like discipline. Experience may substitute for education requirement.
  • (5) Years’ experience in Facilities Management, Safety or Fire Safety/Protection


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager
  • Experience with Hospital Licensure
  • Six Sigma, performance improvement/lean methodology experience.
  • Understanding research components and research functions.

The estimated pay scale represents the typical salary range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc.
