The Program Director quickly understands our client's needs and objectives with the ability to effectively manage teams of different sizes in their effort to deliver multi-discipline services. The Program Director is expected to manage against defined processes throughout a client engagement as well as identify strategic opportunities for optimizations and new work within our clients' environments. The Program Director defines best delivery approaches, program set up and portfolio management methodologies to best deliver against agreed goals. He/she translates program objectives into client value and is capable of articulating goals and approaches to various audiences. The Program Director will influence the evolution of the practices and roles within the Delivery department guaranteeing continuous alignment with market needs. This role requires individuals who are proactive problem solvers that can manage team dynamics, manage project financial performance, clearly communicate status, and drive progression towards dates.


Responsibilities

• Build dynamic partnerships across VMLY&R practices and client teams to best support program goals and evolves delivery approach to stay in alignment with client + VMLY&R relationship

• Lead multiple teams under one or more clients

• Support/provide strategic direction related to processes and resolution paths

• Understand the requirements of the organization to create efficient solutions within the projects engaged

• Provide well researched POV documents on a variety of solutions related to project work

• Maintain direct client relationships with client project owners and client management leadership

• Interview and make recommendations to hire Program Managers and Sr Program Managers

• Coach, mentor and manage a Delivery team in the creation of business analysis tools/techniques and business requirements (i.e. user story mapping, process maps, rules matrices, mockups, textual requirements, user stories etc.)

• Serve as a key point of contact and liaison for cross-divisional teams, agency peers and management

• Support VMLY&R new business development efforts as needed and proactively identifies new business opportunities within existing book of business

• Identify opportunities to engage other VMLY&R delivery teams to continuously provide value to Clients

• Support organizational resourcing based on Client needs (communicating, managing, executing)

• Manage projects against variances in profitability, burn and efficiency.

• Promote and drive teams, constantly leading them to adhere to VMLY&R standard processes and guidelines

• Provide insights, socialize and introduce new delivery methodologies to optimize processes and enhance efficiencies

• Actively review and explore opportunities to improve, optimize and enhance VMLY&R ways of working

• Manage complex projects and program to ensure quality and timely delivery of full customer value

• Manage cross-program activities and ensures health of various multidiscipline projects and programs

• Manage budget; resources allocation and balance across several projects and programsCollaborates with client and VMLY&R leadership on the activation of engagements to ensure programs are initiated correctly


Requirements

• College degree or significant project support experience

• Master's degree in business administration, computer science, computer information systems, marketing preferred

• 2+ years of Digital/Marketing Agency experience

• 10+ years of analyst, technical, and business experience

• 10+ years of experience in program/project/team management

• Master of agile software development methodologies, amongst other methodologies

• Experience in running or working with agile teams (preferably Scrum)

• Understanding of business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria

• Certification for or extensive experience with JIRA and Confluence

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with multiple application lifecycle management solutions

• Ability to provide proactive and assertive leadership in problem solving, managing financial success of projects, maintaining timelines, and reducing waste

• Ability to manage multiple work-streams (projects) effectively and efficiently

• Extensive team management skills for teams of 20+ individuals
