The Knowledge, Impact and Strategy (KIS) department at Enterprise uses data to inform community development strategies and demonstrate the impact of Enterprise's work across the country.

The Knowledge, Impact and Strategy department is hiring a Program Director to manage day-to-day operations of the growing Research & Analytics team. This person, reporting to and working closely with the Research Director, will drive expansion of the Opportunity360 program, help our internal and external partners become better users and consumers of data, lead development of our internal data infrastructure, and build visually engaging interactive and web-based data tools.

The Program Director must have experience applying new technologies and data techniques to solve real world challenges in housing and community development, or related fields. They must have strong team leadership and communication skills, be excited about learning and problem-solving, and have a passion for social equity.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead development of new data products, tools and reports.
  • Triage incoming data requests and manage staff assignments, in consultation with the Research Director.
  • Champion the use of data and technology in Enterprise programs and support our partners in adopting data-driven approaches and solutions.
  • Help plan for the long-term data infrastructure needs of KIS and coordinate with internal Enterprise teams.
  • Manage third-party contractors, including digital service consultants and data providers.
  • Coordinate closely with other KIS teams and ensure timely communication with internal and external partners.
  • Mentor staff, cultivate team relationships, and coordinate opportunities for professional development.
  • Respond to funding opportunities.
  • Oversee KIS data quality assurance activities.


Qualifications

Educational background in a discipline that emphasizes analyzing and interpreting both quantitative and qualitative information.

  • Knowledge of issues in community development and/or housing policy issues, urban economics, demographics and/or real estate development, as well as how new data and technology are transforming traditional practices.
  • Experience managing technical staff.
  • Familiarity with standard statistical methods and software (such as R, SAS, Stata), spatial analysis and mapping platforms (Tableau, ArcGIS, leaflet, mapbox, ArcGIS Online), and/or databases (SQL databases, Access). Experience in two or more of these programs is required, others can be learned in the position.
  • Experience visually representing data and overseeing the development and rollout of interactive data tools and reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience in writing proposals and translating data for non-technical audiences highly desirable..
  • Experience working with diverse, collaborative teams, virtually or in-person.
  • Ability to manage project budgets, sub-contractors, and resource tracking.
  • Ability to scope, plan and execute complex initiatives.
  • Excellent critical thinking and creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to successfully work on multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Curiosity, desire for self-improvement, passion for social equity, and excitement about sharing new skills and knowledge.
