We are currently searching for a detail oriented individual to serve in the role of Director of Affirmative Action and Diversity Metrics, responsible for completing the organization's affirmative action plans and developing metrics to determine our successful measurable outcomes in advancing our diversity and inclusion initiatives.
This position has primary responsibility for the development and implementation of the Affirmative Action Program (AAP). This includes promoting effective AA activities through education, training and guidance; monitoring departmental hiring activity to ensure that effective and inclusive search processes are used; meeting with hiring managers to share information on and strategies for addressing underutilization; partnering with the compensation unit to review the minimum qualifications of all positions, and managing the collection, compilation, analysis, and interpretation of confidential employment and demographic data for Penn State Health's affirmative action program.
The position will establish and maintain contacts with local organizations that can advance diversity recruitment, including participation in diversity recruitment events and consulting with PSH recruiters on achieving affirmative action/diversity goals.
The position will attend PSH recruiter meetings to share information on new developments in affirmative action compliance and updates on the organization's affirmative action/diversity goals.
The position also has responsibility for completion of federally required reports, such as the EEO1 and the veteran hire/utilization report (4212).
This position also has primary responsibility for measuring the outcomes of all diversity/inclusion initiatives, such as diversity training programs, diverse student recruitment initiatives, and departmental diversity/inclusion efforts, and providing periodic analytical reports to senior leaders, human resources, and other members of the Penn State Health community.
The position also has responsibility for completing all "best employer" benchmarking reports, such as Human Rights Campaign Health Equality Index, Military Times, Insight into Diversity, and DiversityInc, and analyzing the outcomes to recommend strategies for increasing diversity and advancing a more inclusive workplace.
Bachelor's Degree with at least six years' experience with significant responsibilities in the development and implementation of affirmative action and equal opportunity programs required.
Experience in a leadership role directly related to civil rights compliance, preferably in an academic medicine center setting, is also required.
Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws; regulations pertaining to affirmative action/equal employment opportunity; and current affirmative action and equal employment opportunity related issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills.
Ability to analyze employment and student statistical data for medical schools and hospitals for reporting and planning purposes.
Ability to establish community-based contact network to enhance Affirmative Action goal achievement.
