Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:
- Provides acquisition program analysis and oversight for complex special operations-peculiar weapons systems, equipment, and services supporting USSOCOM mission requirements.
- Evaluates acquisition program performance related to cost, schedule, and mission effectiveness and develops recommendations for senior leadership.
- Develops and integrates acquisition policies, strategies, and resource plans supporting acquisition lifecycle management and PPBE activities.
- Advises senior leadership on acquisition policy, program management, budgeting, contracting, and strategic planning matters.
- Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to support acquisition initiatives, program oversight, and implementation of defense acquisition policies and procedures.

QualificationsIn order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.You may qualify at the GS 15 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level of GS-14 or pay band in the federal service that demonstrates 1) Experience analyzing and evaluating defense acquisition programs, policies, or initiatives involving weapons systems, equipment, services, or special operations capabilities; 2) Experience applying acquisition principles, PPBE processes, and program management concepts to support program oversight and resource integration; AND 3) Experience advising senior leadership and coordinating with stakeholders on acquisition policy, budgeting, contracting, or acquisition lifecycle activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: Federal agencies treat active duty service member as veterans, disabled veterans, and preference eligible, when they submit, as part of their application package, a "certification" of active service in lieu of a DD-214, indicating the service member is otherwise eligible and will be discharged or released within 120 days from the date of submission..
