Position Description:
Purpose
The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and the MCW Cancer Center seek applicants for a full-time, traditional track position at the rank of Professor. The predominant criterion for appointment in the traditional track is a major commitment to research and teaching. Investigators whose major focus in on immuno-oncology.
Primary Functions
Knowledge – Skills – Abilities
Applicants should have a doctoral (PhD or MD/PhD) degree with relevant training or research experience in cancer cell biology. Faculty in the Traditional Path are expected to make a major commitment to research and other scholarly activities in addition to achieving excellence in teaching and clinical or administrative service. The measures for assessment of appointments to the Traditional Path are weighted in favor of scholarly accomplishment and potential.
You are expected to continue the development of your research program with the goal of publishing high quality papers in peer reviewed scientific journals and increasing your funding support from the NIH or other major federal agencies. You are expected to develop collaborations with other faculty members in the Cancer Center, and Departments of Microbiology and Immunology to advance your cancer research on campus with the goal of submitting a multi-project NIH “P” or “U” grant within three years.
Position Requirements:
Applicants should have a doctoral (PhD, ScD or MD with MPH/MS) degree with relevant training or research experience in immune-oncology.
