The Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, Texas, is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible academic Chief of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. The ideal applicant will be a physician-scientist with a track record of successful extramural funding, mentoring and leadership. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Interstitial Lung Disease, for which an Endowed Chair is available.
The Section has a total of 46 full-time faculty, 26 clinical fellows in 3 training programs, and 14 research staff and postdoctoral fellows. The Section has over $3.5 million in annual direct costs of active federal research funding and an NIH T32 training program in Pulmonary Disease. The Section has practice and research sites at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, Texas Children’s Hospital, and Ben Taub Hospital. The Section is home to a Cystic Fibrosis Center, an Asthma Clinical Research Center and a lung transplant program. This position affords the qualified individual the unique opportunity to lead the expansion of the research, clinical, and educational activities of the Section.
