Professional Services Subcontracting Manager

Job Role Overview and Responsibility

It is important that the subcontracting components of our PS business are designed, executed, managed and tracked with the utmost efficiency and precision. Therefore, VMware is seeking a highly motivated, energetic and experienced professional to manage both tactical and strategic elements of the VMware PS subcontracting.

A critical success factor of this role requires the successful candidate to proactively partner with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, as well as globally to ensure cross geo compliance. This role also requires the ability to take ownership of the current process and related policies, identify gaps, inefficiencies and desired improvements. Making and executing against agreed recommendations for change.

This role will be part of the geo PS Delivery team

Responsibilities:

oProactive management of PS subcontractors to help build a flexible pool of talented resources by:

oManaging relationships with key PS subcontracting partner management teams

oUnderstanding capacity requirements in order to meet AMER PS financial targets

oJoint business planning with key PS subcontracting partners

oWork with the PS Delivery Leadership Team to find and recruit new partners

oBuilding and maintaining requiredreporting with the PS Operations and Optics teams to track metrics related to the subcontractordelivery

oStrategic approach to the management of the subcontracting processes including review of existing process, focus should include, but not be limited to:

§Documented work instruction and process flows for all discreteareas

·Tactical management of the day to day operations of the PS subcontracting, this includes but is not limited to:

oRelationship management with strategicsourcing

oPO portal management andescalations

oPartnering with shared services team

oEnsuring that the subcontractors have the appropriate tools todeliver

oEscalationpoint

oAccurate accrual management in partnership withFinance

·Ensure a robust process is in place and being followed to ensurecompliance

·Training and enablement for field andoperations

·Project Management of all subcontracting improvementinitiatives

·Collaborate with global subcontracting teams by being an active memberof the subcontracting COE

·Establish and maintain strong relationships with all of the teamsthat

interface with this function

Required Skills:
• Bachelor's degree; MBA or similar post graduate degree preferred
• 5+ years working in professional services in the high tech market
• Detailed knowledge/understanding of subcontracting operational and financial models
• Demonstrated experience at building and maintaining relationships
• Ability to formulate strategies and plans to support objectives
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimum guidance
• Ability to exercise judgment and work in a fast paced environment
• Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
