The Production Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining Our Client’s systems up and running according to their established service level agreements. This role resolves all moderate and urgent problems (systems and application) sent to enterprise production support from the help desk, production support team members and other department through applying a high level of knowledge of software development and Our Client’s products in order to solve atypical problems. This production support engineer will also utilize code to solve production issues, document problems for consistency and prevention of repeat problems as well as make suggestions for product or process improvements as they become clear.
Work closely with Our Client’s business lines and both internal/external customers to provide support for the delivery of our products. This position will offer 24X7support of mission critical business applications and processes.
Provide 24X7Support of mission critical business applications and processes: Trouble-shoot problems, both technical and operational.
Work with batch applications.
Support applications and services with minimal direction, based on documented user requirements.
Solve complex problems using reverse engineering.
Work effectively in a mufti-tasking environment.
Provide level 3support including root cause analysis, problem resolution, application and system monitoring, reseOur Clienth, and project development.
Develop and support software in a commercial environment.
Perform system design, develop and test application code.
Lead projects from requirements thru implementation.
Create efficiencies to enhance system performance.
Develop projects utilizing approved project development methodologies to deliver projects in very short time periods for maximum results •Partner with our customers (both internal and external); continually strive to provide the highest level of support while acquiring industry, business, and application specific knowledge.
Provide recommendations for efficiencies and improvements to Our Client’s computer systems.
Provide technical and professional assistance to other Our Client staff members.
Work with Business Line Management to prioritize production issues for each system.
Maintain technical requirements and system documentation.
ReseOur Clienth and provide training opportunities for team members to acquire knowledge and expertise.
Assist in the development of processes and procedures to provide problem resolution for all major systems.
Provide reports to and meet with the Product Lines to discuss problem tickets and their resolution.
Perform and coordinate assigned project and problem-support work for all systems.
Education and Work ExperienceRequired
BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of experience in: ?Standard ETL tools, operating systems and databases. ?Mainframe COBOL/JCL ?Teradata, UNIX, and Oracle Software development life cycle and production issues
Change management processes and source code version control tools.
